When Time Ran Out... (1980) [American]

This was producer Irwin Allen's last big-screen disaster flick, and it didn't do very well at the box office, despite an impressive cast. Jacqueline played Kay Kirby, an assistant to Shelby Gilmore (William Holden), who is an investor in the resort developed on a tropical, but volcanic, island. Paul Newman plays Hank Anderson, who works the oil field on the island. He and Kay have a romantic picnic just before the volcano blows up. Paul Newman and Jacqueline also appeared in "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean".

The film was directed by James Goldstone, and shot in Hawaii. It was based on the novel, "The Day the World Ended", which was the film's working title. It was shown on television as "Earth's Final Fury".
