After two historical dramas for TV, Jacqueline made this more typical movie-of-the-week. Unfortunately the situation is quite artificial and not entirely believable, though the performances are fine, and it tries to make you think. George C. Scott plays "Evan Granger", a stern judge. He is strongly opposed to his unwed daughter (played by Melissa Gilbert) getting an abortion. However, when his younger second wife, "Marisa" (played by Jacqueline) accidentally becomes pregnant, he insists she have an abortion, because they had agreed to no children.
